Ollie, who runs Tradeface

Ollie, UC commerce

Who you’re dealing with

Kia ora, I’m Ollie.

I’m a commerce student at the University of Canterbury, and I build websites for local trades. I started because plenty of good operators around Canterbury either have no site or one that’s hard to use on a phone, and they lose work to whoever shows up first on Google.

You deal with me directly. I answer my phone, I reply to texts, and I won’t lock you into anything you can’t get out of.

Southlight Window Cleaning

A made-up Rolleston window cleaner, built to show what a $290 one-page site can do. Prices sit right under the first screen, and the quote form lands in the owner’s inbox. Extras like a price calculator and a before-and-after slider show what can be added later.

  • Prices up front
  • Quote form to email
  • Calculator add-on
  • Loads fast on 4G

Southlight is a made-up business, built to show the kind of site you’d get. Your site is designed around your trade, your photos and your prices.

What you get

A site that earns its keep.

A website for a tradie has one job: get the phone ringing with the work you want. Everything on it is there for that.

  1. 01

    Built for phones first

Most of your customers find you on a phone, often standing in their driveway. Buttons are big, the number is one tap away, and pages load fast on patchy 4G.

  2. 02

    Built to bring in calls

Tap-to-call on every page and a quote form that lands in your inbox with the job details already filled in.

  3. 03

    Found in your patch

Proper titles, local service areas and your Google Business Profile set up or tidied, so people searching nearby can find you.

  4. 04

Prices up front, if you want them

For jobs with set prices I can add a simple estimator, like the one on the Southlight demo, so customers ring already knowing the ballpark.

  5. 05

    Looked after every month

Hosting, the domain renewal, the security certificate and small changes are all covered by the care plan. Text me a new photo and it goes up.

  6. 06

    Yours, start to finish

The domain is in your name and you own the words and photos. If you ever leave, you get the files.

How it works

From first call to live site in about two weeks.

  1. 1

    A ten-minute video call

You tell me what work you want more of, and I tell you straight whether a site will help.

  2. 2

    You send the basics

Your logo if you have one, some photos of your work, your services and rough prices. Phone snaps are fine.

  3. 3

    I build it

You get a private preview link in about a week. Tell me what to change and I change it.

  4. 4

    It goes live

I connect your domain, test it on real phones and set up your Google profile. From then on the care plan keeps it ticking over.

Pricing

One price to build. A small monthly fee to keep it running.

Prices in NZ dollars. I’m not GST registered, so there’s no GST on top.

$290

paid once, when it goes live

  • Up to 8 pages: services, areas, about, contact
  • Written around your trade and your area

FAQ

Fair questions.

How long does it take?

About one to two weeks from when you send your photos and prices. The slow part is usually getting the photos together, so start snapping.

Do I need a logo first?

No. If you don’t have one, I’ll set your business name in a clean typeface with your colours. You can add a proper logo later.

Who owns the website?

You do. The domain is registered in your name and the content is yours. If you stop the care plan, I hand over the files and help you move it.

What does the monthly fee cover?

Hosting, the domain renewal, the security certificate, the quote form, a monthly check that everything works, and small updates like new prices, photos or opening hours.

Can I change things myself?

Most owners would rather text me and have it done the same week, which the care plan covers. If you want to edit it yourself, say so up front and I’ll set it up that way.

Will it get me to the top of Google?

Nobody can honestly promise that. What I can do is build the site so Google understands what you do and where, set up your Google Business Profile, and make it quick to load. Reviews from real customers do the rest.

I’m not in Christchurch. Can you still help?

Yes. Most of the work happens over the phone and by text, so anywhere in New Zealand is fine. I’m in Christchurch if you’d like to meet in person.

Get a site

Tell me about your business.

Fill this in and I’ll get back to you the same day, usually after classes finish. Or skip the form and text me.

Nothing is agreed until you’ve read the plain-English terms and said yes to them.
